This past weekend, Cookies Melrose marked its one-year anniversary in true Hollywood fashion — with a celebration that perfectly captured the brand’s culture, community, and creative edge.
Nestled in the heart of Hollywood on Melrose Avenue, the shop was buzzing with excitement as fans, loyal customers, and curious newcomers made their way into the store. The energy was palpable, with beats bumping, good vibes flowing, and smiles all around.
But this wasn’t just any anniversary — Cookies Melrose pulled out all the stops. Outside, the party continued with non-cannabis vendors bringing serious flavor. Ubatuba Açaí served up refreshing, made-to-order açaí bowls while the Habachihana Japanese Grill food truck dished out their signature plates.

Adding even more flavor to the street scene, Streetwise Hoppers Car Club brought their iconic lowrider vehicles to the avenue, drawing crowds of car enthusiasts and casual passersby alike. Their presence gave Melrose that classic LA swagger and turned the sidewalk into a car show.
One of the standout moments of the day was the unveiling of a brand-new mural by none other than Gino “Genoski” Gaspara. The eye-catching street art — located at the intersection of Melrose Avenue and N. Curson Avenue — pays tribute to a lineup of powerhouse cannabis brands including Sluggers Hit, Preferred, Made, Weedmaps, Vibe, and The Standard, all of whom were onsite supporting the celebration. Genoski, a California-born graffiti and tattoo artist, draws deep inspiration from hip hop culture, and his mural is a colorful, dynamic homage to the brands shaping the cannabis landscape.
One brand in particular that fans were eager to see was Sluggers Hit — a top-shelf name that continues to draw in customers from all over. As a key partner of Cookies, it came as no surprise that Sluggers Hit showed up strong to help celebrate the shop’s milestone.
As Cookies Melrose turns one, it’s clear that the store has become much more than just a retail destination — it’s a cultural hub and community cornerstone for cannabis lovers, creatives, and street culture aficionados alike.
Here’s to a successful first year and many more to come. Stay fly, Hollywood.
