A Skate Scene Growing Under Fenway

There are dispensaries, and then there’s New Dia - Boston’s only shop where you can pick up heat on the shelves and watch someone tre flip in the same building. Right across from Fenway Park, they’ve carved out a concrete bunker of a skate zone beneath the store, and it’s quickly becoming the city’s most unexpected hangout spot.

    Tricks, Community & Zero Pretense

New Dia has been doing this - making space for real skate culture. The latest event brought skaters and locals together for a SKATE competition, the same gameplay as HORSE in basketball, but here it’s tricks, style, and consistency doing the talking. Someone lands it, everyone else has to keep up. Blow it, get a letter. Run out of letters, you’re done.

What made the night hit different was the mix of energy. You’ve got people sessioning the cement, people playing pool, and gamers on a massive mario kart gamescreen, others chilling over music, and everyone blending into the same crowd - skaters, cannabis heads, industry folks, first-timers. It wasn’t about who bought what, who knew who, or who could throw down the biggest trick. It was about showing love to the scene and letting the culture speak for itself.

“We can’t wait to do it again next year, and keep this going.” Sean from Collab group referred to this being the 6th time the skating event has been held at New Dia, and it won’t be the last.

Redefining What a Dispensary Can Be

New Dia is building something you don’t see anywhere else in Massachusetts: a place where cannabis meets community without trying to box either in. It’s raw, unfussy, and fully owned by the people who show up. The underground space feels less like a marketing ploy and more like a backyard spot everyone just happens to know about - except it’s legal, licensed, and across from one of the most iconic sports stadiums in the country.

Boston doesn’t need another “experience.” New Dia’s doing it by letting skateboarding be skateboarding, letting the crowd take ownership, and cracking open what a dispensary can mean to a community.

Just tricks, cheers, and a city full of people who get it.

Thanks for making history - again. 🛹🔥
