Sluggers Takes Fenway: with a Frolic in the Park
Table of contents
There are a few places that don't need an introduction.
Fenway Park is one of them.
As a brand rooted in baseball culture, being part of Frolic in the ?ark—the official afterparty following NECANN—felt like a natural fit for Sluggers. Hosted by our friends at The Weedaker Group, the event brought together cannabis operators, retailers, brands, and industry professionals from across the country for an evening inside one of the most iconic venues in sports.
For us, one of the coolest moments of the night came before the party even started: seeing the Sluggers logo displayed on the Fenway video board overlooking an empty ballpark.
Not a bad view.

Bringing the Party Outside
Fenway Park and cannabis consumption don't exactly go hand in hand.
Enter the Sluggers consumption trolley. The Slugger’s Phunk Bus, if you will. And as our rep, Jariel Gonzales, kindly reminded folks before entering the bus… “no mids allowed.”
That's what made the Sluggers Phunk Bus parked outside on Lansdowne Street such a hit.
Positioned just steps from the event entrance, the trolley became an “unofficial-official” hospitality lounge throughout the night. Guests could step outside, light up, reconnect with friends, and continue conversations without losing the momentum of the evening.
Some people stopped by for a few minutes.
Others seemed to set up camp for most of the night.
Either way, the trolley became exactly what we hoped it would be: a place for people to hang out.
One of the things we've always appreciated about the cannabis industry is that the best conversations often happen away from conference booths and meeting rooms. Sometimes all people need is a place to kick back and connect.
The Soundtrack of the Night
Of course, a good party needs good music.
Our friend DJ Ryan Brown handled that responsibility all night long.
Instead of feeling like a traditional industry event, the atmosphere felt more like a summer party with a few hundred cannabis professionals who happened to know each other.
The playlist bounced between old-school hip-hop, Jay-Z classics, reggaeton, and crowd favorites that had people movin n’ groovin’ along between conversations.
Networking definitely happened.
But so did dancing.
And honestly, that's probably how it should be.

Fenway Franks Never Miss
There's something about Fenway that immediately brings out a sense of nostalgia.
Maybe it's the Green Monster.
Maybe it's the history.
Or maybe it's just the food.
Guests were treated to classic Fenway staples throughout the evening, including Fenway Franks and ice cream served in the iconic Red Sox batting helmets.
If you grew up anywhere near New England, you know exactly what we're talking about.

More Than a Conference Afterparty
NECANN has become one of the most important cannabis industry events in the country, but one of the reasons people keep coming back is what happens after the conference ends.
Frolic in the ?ark has carved out a unique place during NECANN weekend because it gives people an opportunity to unwind and enjoy themselves in a setting that doesn't feel like another panel discussion or networking mixer.
For one night, people got to walk the concourse at Fenway, look out over the field, catch up with old friends, make new connections, and enjoy one of Boston's most iconic venues.
Sluggers was proud to be part of it.
Until Next Year
From the trolley on Lansdowne Street to the music, food, and unforgettable backdrop of Fenway Park, Frolic in the Park was one of those events that reminded us why we love this industry.
Cannabis is built on community.
Sometimes that community gathers at a trade show.
Sometimes it gathers around a hospitality lounge on a trolley bus.
And sometimes it gathers inside Fenway Park on a beautiful Boston night.
We'll take any excuse to spend time at Fenway.
We're already looking forward to the next one.
