Sluggers Mini Blunts Launch at NECANN Weekend With Boston Trolley Takeover

NECANN weekend officially took over Boston on Friday night (4/24), bringing together cannabis brands, industry professionals, and longtime community members from across the country. The convention set the tone during the day, but as the sun went down, the city shifted into after-hours mode with meetups, pop-ups, and afterparties spread across downtown Boston.
Sluggers kicked off its presence during NECANN weekend with the launch of its new Mini Blunts, paired with a trolley ride that moved through the city and into some of the night’s key stops. Starting on Boylston Street near the convention energy and ending near Lansdowne Street outside Fenway Park, the night connected the dots between the conference floor and Boston’s nightlife scene in a way that felt fluid and natural.
Earlier in the day, NECANN brought a steady flow of conversations, reconnects, and introductions. Industry folks caught up on what’s new in the market, brands showed what they were working on, and attendees moved between booths and panels throughout the day. It was one of those NECANN Fridays where you’re constantly running into familiar faces while also meeting new ones every few minutes.
Mark Shepard and the NECANN team once again put together a strong weekend foundation, keeping the convention organized while still leaving plenty of space for the city to take over once the doors closed.
By the time the trolley rolled out, the tone of the weekend had already been set.
From the moment people stepped onboard, the energy felt easy. A curated playlist filled the space with a steady mix of classics, laid-back records, and newer tracks that matched the pace of the night. Nothing was overproduced or forced—the music simply shaped the background while conversations naturally took over the foreground.
The trolley quickly became a moving extension of NECANN weekend itself. People who had spent the day on the convention floor were now sitting side by side, talking without schedules or booth traffic in the way. Old friends reconnected, new introductions turned into longer conversations, and the city slowly passed by outside the windows.
One of the highlights throughout the ride was getting to experience the Sluggers Juiced* Mini Blunts in that setting for the first time during NECANN weekend.
Different strains from the Mini Blunts lineup made their way around the trolley, giving people a chance to try them in a real social environment rather than a structured setting. The feedback stayed consistent across the board—smooth smoke, clean pull, and an easy, even burn that held up well throughout the ride.
In a moving environment where conversation never really stops, that smoothness mattered. Nobody was dealing with harsh hits or constant relighting. Instead, the smoke fit into the rhythm of the night, moving naturally between conversations and music.
Alongside the Juiced* Mini Blunts, Boston-themed Sluggers lighters made their way around the group as well, adding a small but appreciated touch that tied the night back to the city itself.
As the trolley moved deeper into the evening, the ride started connecting directly into some of the weekend’s afterparties and pop-ups happening across Boston.
One of the early stops was The Citrus Social Club at Rochambeau, hosted by Coast Cannabis, Levia, and Nimbus - the perfect mid-day social amidst the hustle and bustle of the convention!
After the convention, the night continued to Nostalgia x Elevated Roots gathering at Retro Room on Boylston Street, where NECANN attendees filtered in and out of a more laid-back after-hours setting.
Each stop felt like a different chapter of the same day, all tied together by the momentum of NECANN weekend and the trolley moving through it.

As the night went on, conversations onboard and off the trolley continued to shift between industry talk and casual catch-ups. People discussed what they had seen at the convention, what stood out on the floor, what brands were doing something interesting, and where the market seemed to be heading next.
The final stop of the night brought everything together at Lansdowne Street outside the historic Fenway Park, where Frolic in the Park was underway, hosted by The Weedaker Group. The Sluggers Trolley was a perfect addition to the event where guests had a designated smoking area that kept the vibes flowing.
The trolley arrived into that scene and naturally became part of it for a moment—people stepping off, continuing conversations, and easing into the rest of the night without a hard stop or break in momentum.
From Boylston Street to Lansdowne Street, Friday night felt like a clear snapshot of what the culture looks like when it’s all in one place—industry, community, and nightlife overlapping without needing to be forced together.
A true “Boston Coded” sesh.
